The Fifty/50 Group, based in Chicago, started as one restaurant that was founded by Greg Mohr and Scott Weiner in 2008 to fulfill a lifelong desire on both of their parts to create a restaurant that lay true to their vision and passion of what a casual restaurant with unique vision and a passion for food should be.
With the success of our first concept, we soon ventured into the pizza business with Roots and then our first bakery, West Town Bakery & Diner. Craft cocktail concepts such as the Berkshire Room and The Sixth were followed by new locations of Roots and upscale dining concepts such as Homestead on the Roof and Steadfast. Our rooftop concept, Utopian Tailgate lights up the skies above Second City in Old Town. The group began managing the theaters at Second City while we also cater to event halls all across Chicago.
