Foodshed is the parent company that represents our flagship restaurant, Woodberry Kitchen, as well as other restaurants and coffee shops (Sandlot, Artifact Coffee, A Rake's Progress, and The Cup We All Race 4) around the Baltimore and DC area. The passionate executive team, includes company founder Spike Gjerde, the only Baltimore chef to win a James Beard Award. Gjerde took home the award for culinary excellence while simultaneously building a restaurant group that prioritizes environmental and community impact via a model that runs entirely on supporting the hardworking farmers and watermen of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. At our restaurants, guests experience world-class hospitality and cuisine and also support thoughtful agriculture practices that respect the abundance and traditions of the region, while helping to ensure its future. The scope of this commitment will continue to expand, with the development of new market and plant-based restaurant projects on the waterfront in Washington, DC.
