RAD Restaurants is a New York City-based hospitality group dedicated to creating perfect neighborhood restaurants. Founded by husband-wife duo Nate Adler and Rachel Jackson, the group’s concepts include GERTIE, gertrude’s, and the forthcoming Trudie’s Tavern. RAD brings New York dining culture to life through a distinctly “Jew-ish” lens—heritage-inspired, community-driven, and unapologetically local. Each restaurant embodies the soul of its neighborhood through approachable design, thoughtful hospitality, and a community-centric ethos. 

The name RAD stands for “Restaurants Advocating for Democracy,” a nod to the group’s origin during the pandemic when Nate and Rachel mobilized their restaurant, GERTIE, into a hub for social action, community care, and food relief. Today, RAD continues that mission by nurturing both staff and guests through spaces that are comfortable, empathetic, and nostalgic—qualities that together define the perfect neighborhood restaurant.
