Position Summary

The Back of House team is responsible for preparing and executing Mum's crumbles consistently, efficiently, and safely. This includes daily prep, food production, portioning, order assembly, maintaining quality standards, and keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for service.

Every crumble that leaves our kitchen represents Mum's. Quality, consistency, presentation, accuracy, and speed matter.

Core Responsibilities

• Complete daily food prep according to Mum's recipes, prep lists, and established pars.
• Prepare fruit fillings, crumble toppings, custard, and other menu components according to recipes and portion standards.
• Bake, cook, portion, store, and replenish ingredients throughout the day.
• Assemble and finish customer orders accurately and efficiently during service.
• Ensure every order meets Mum's standards for portion size, presentation, temperature, and quality.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, allergen, and temperature-control procedures.
• Maintain an organized and fully stocked prep and service station.
• Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages, waste, or quality concerns to the manager.
• Communicate clearly with Front of House regarding orders, modifications, timing, and special requests.
• Wash, sanitize, and put away dishes, utensils, equipment, and smallwares as needed.
• Keep all kitchen, prep, storage, and service areas clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, prep, cleaning, and sanitation responsibilities.
• Follow all Mum's recipes, procedures, food-safety requirements, and operating standards.
• Support Front of House and other team members when needed.

Qualifications

Previous restaurant, bakery, café, QSR, prep-cook, or kitchen experience is preferred, but a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are most important. Candidates must be comfortable working on their feet in a fast-paced kitchen environment and performing repetitive prep, cleaning, lifting, and food-production tasks.
