Position Overview: As a Host at Cafe Maud, you will be the face of our establishment, providing guests with a warm and friendly welcome. Your role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. We are looking for individuals with exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for ensuring every guest feels valued and appreciated.

Responsibilities:

1. Guest Welcome:

   • Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor as they enter the restaurant.
   • Manage the reservation system (Resy) and seat guests promptly, efficiently, and in accordance with their preferences.
   • Handle guest inquiries, provide information about the menu, and accommodate special requests.
   • Maintain a tidy and organized host/hostess station.

2. Reservation Management:

   • Record and confirm reservations, ensuring accurate details and special requests are noted.
   • Manage waitlists during peak dining hours, communicating estimated wait times to guests.
   • Coordinate with the restaurant team to ensure a smooth flow of seating.

3. Guest Relations:

   • Build rapport with regular guests, addressing them by name and making them feel valued and appreciated.
   • Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally and promptly, seeking resolutions to ensure guest satisfaction.

4. Communication and Coordination:

   • Collaborate with servers and management to optimize table turnover and seating arrangements.
   • Relay important information, such as special occasions or guest preferences, to the service team.
   • Maintain open and effective communication with all restaurant staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a guest-focused role is preferred but not required.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm and welcoming demeanor with a genuine desire to make guests feel comfortable.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism.
• Organizational skills to manage reservations and seating efficiently.
• Knowledge of reservation management software is a plus.
