Helmed by Top Chef alum Katsuji Tanabe, Barrio puts a creative take on traditional Mexican fare. The menu incorporates a shared-plate format offering locally sourced, sustainable ingredients and features house-made tortillas made with organic, heirloom grains.

Elevating classics like guacamole with grilled pineapple and hibuscus and beef short ribs with a mezcal and tamarind braise, Barrio adds exciting twists and turns to standard Mexican dishes. Accompanied by an extensive list of craft cocktails, cervezas, vinos, and of course, margaritas, Barrio is a taqueria concept perfect for its location, the prominent corner of Clark & Kinzie in the heart of River North's dining district.
