Read moreChef Sal Lamboglia will be opening his second Carroll Gardens restaurant this Fall. Swoony’s, Sal’s take on a classic American Bistro, aims to welcome its first diners in November. Whereas you may wander into Cafe Spaghetti at 5pm for Sunday supper, Swoony’s will quickly become your weeknight 8pm seat at the bar for a cocktail and burger jaunt.
The Swoony’s menu is a reflection of the type of restaurants Sal seeks out on his own personal time - a menu built around classic proteins and hearty sides. While it may surprise you, he is not hitting up every Italian restaurant he can find. Sal prefers to explore American bistro style cuisine during his time away from Cafe Spaghetti, and as such, the Swoony’s menu will encompass steak house classics, fresh seafood and bar fare.
The hospitality you have come to know and expect from a Sal Lamboglia restaurant will carry over to Swoony’s with Cafe Spaghetti’s Managing Partner, Giovana Cucolo, joining the opening team. Sal’s personal connection to the neighborhood and the restaurant space, located at 215 Columbia Street, played a large part in his decision to stay local to Brooklyn - the new Swoony’s once was a restaurant called 215 Cucina Napoletana, where his father worked in the early 2000’s.
