Ezov, the latest concept from the Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, will be a Mediterranean inspired restaurant celebrating Israeli cuisine with influences from markets of Israel and Texas. Led by Executive Chef Berty Richter, Ezov is slated to open in Spring 2023 at 2708 E Cesar Chavez St.
“Ezov will be a fun, lighthearted and vibrant concept, featuring seasonal Israeli cuisine,” said Richter. “The menu will draw inspiration from the markets of Texas and Israel, specifically the Galilee region which is known for its abundance of lush greens, rich agricultural, and diversity of cultures including Druze, Bedouin, Christian and Muslim Arabs who's cuisines and traditions heavily influence the culinary richness of the region. I am excited to explore and showcase the similarities of these culinary traditions with our local culinary, farming and agricultural practices.”
Ezov is the Hebrew name for hyssop, which is one of the main ingredients in the spice blend za'atar. The menu at Ezov will be designed to share and will change with the season. With a fun cocktail and wine menu, Ezov’s vibe, inspired by Tel Aviv nights, is casual yet elevated. The restaurant will be designed by partner Rand Egbert and will feature bold and vibrant decor.
This will mark the eighth concept from Austin-based Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group and Berty’s third concept as Executive Chef in Texas. His second concept, Ladino, opened earlier this year in the Pearl District of San Antonio. Other restaurants from the renowned restaurant group include Emmer & Rye, Hestia, Canje, Kalimotxo, Henbit and TLV.
Ezov is slated to open in spring 2023 at 2708 E Cesar Chavez St. Austin, TX 78702. For more information, please visit ezovatx.com or follow along on social at @ezovatx.
