Tsukimi

Contemplation, gratitude, and togetherness. These are themes surrounding the long-held tradition of “tsukimi,” which refers to a midautumn harvest festival honoring the moon at its fullest and brightest.

Here in the heart of the East Village, Tsukimi will strive to bring a new interpretation to kaiseki. “Tsukimi” and “kaiseki” could be two chapters from the same book where ideas of ritual, ceremony and sequence support central concepts of seasonality and change.

While the two words evoke strong connotations of ceremony and creed, Tsukimi will pay homage to its namesake in a more relaxed and elegantly effortless way.
