    Summary
    • Clean, cut and apportion meats, poultry and fish to be seasoned for cooking and baking • Follow menus in the preparation of special dietary needs and nutritional restrictions • Clean, inspect and operate kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure compliance with NYS health codes • Bake breads, cakes, pastries and other assorted dishes for special events and gatherings • Knowledge of FIFO rotation and storage of food and merchandise to prevent spoilage • Assist with inventory of stock and inform chef of items needed for purchase order • Place food in designated containers to be stored or transported to farmer’s market and other venues • Remove garbage, clean mats, wash dishes, pots, and pans to yield clean area to the next shift • Sort trash, break, fold and string cardboard boxes for proper disposal or recycling
