My name is Josie Vie Christiansen. I moved to Alaska one year ago from Las Vegas where I was born and raised. I have spent the past five months working in a remote backcountry luxury lodge for Within the Wild Adventure Lodges.
I have a Culinary Arts Certificate from the College of Southern Nevada, I am ServSafe certified, and have spent the last eight years honing my craft. I have worked at different restaurants on the Las Vegas strip and spent five years at J.W. Marriott working through the brigade system and taking advantage of their career development opportunities. I have experience in various kitchen environments; from production for buffets and banquets to fine dining and pastry. Employers have looked to me to help lead their kitchens.
I very much love to cook, and to teach others how to love it too. I have a strong work ethic, and pay close attention to detail while maintaining a sense of urgency. I promote a professional work environment and collaborate well with others.
