Job Details

Smoque BBQ is currently looking for a Catering Coordinator to join our team. This position comprises a number of activities related to Smoque's Catering department, including answering customer inquiries, preparing and emailing quotes, assembling orders for customer pick up and for delivery, delivering orders, and assisting in the planning of and working at on-site events. Prior catering experience is not required as we are willing to train someone with a strong work ethic and customer service background. However, catering sales and operations experience are a plus.  Hours will range from 20 to 40+ hours per week based on the seasonal needs of the business. Professionalism, superior customer service, and attention to detail are requirements.

Responsibilities include:

~ understanding the Smoque BBQ catering menu and helping catering customers select appropriate products and quantities for their needs;

~ accurately booking customer orders and entering them in our catering system;

~ booking deliveries and securing drivers for orders;

~ delivering catering orders, as needed;

~ entering and cashing out catering orders for each day of catering operations;

~ accurately assembling outbound catering orders for customer pick up or delivery;

~ assisting in managing and replenishing a catering buffet for on-site catered events and assisting and serving guests;

~ leading events, directing event staff, liaison with customer and/or event planner, venue contact, etc., as needed;

~ participation in all administrative and operational aspects of the catering business;

~ performing other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Catering Manager or other leadership.

~ self-motivated, driven, and shows initiative;

~ creative and resourceful

 

Requirements:

Must have a pleasant demeanor, both on the phone and in person;

Must be dependable, have a valid driver's license and clean driving record;

Must be able to speak English fluently and communicate clearly and effectively;

Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift objects of up to 50 pounds;

Must be available to be scheduled between the hours of 7 am - 11 pm.
