April Bloomfield, James Beard Award winning Chef, has opened her first Los Angeles restaurtant, The Hearth & Hound in Hollywood. The food, atmosphere and hospitality have been conciously sourced and curated creating a sophisticated yet appoarchable cuisine and environment. This open kitchen concept built around a roaring hearth and wood oven is meant to evoke a sense of warmth and familiarity. Set in an old Spanish courtyard building, formerly home to the Cat & Fiddle, the restaurtant evokes a sense of home with an expansive courtyard and garden entryway drawing the guest in from the bustle of Sunset Blvd.
We have built a strong core of employees and managers whom are the ambasadors of this warm and genuine hospitality. We are seeking a motivated and confident industry professional to join our team!
The ideal candidate will posess the following character traits:

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-Have a solid understanding of restaurant operations: policies, procedures, standards, and specifications.
-Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
-Assist the General Manager with hiring and termination.
-Partner with the General Manager to train and manage front of house service staff, ensuring consistent delivery of superior products and professional service within the standards of budget, policies, procedures, and quality.
-Fill in where needed to ensure that the guest service standards are met and that the operations are run efficiently.
-Calmly and effectively diffuse conflicts that may arise with guests. Ensuring the expierience for follow guests is not compromised.
-Schedule labor as required by anticipating business activity while meeting labor goals.
-Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and be willing and able to administer corrective action in regards to violations.
-Oversee daily shift responsibilities of all employees (floor service, side-work, sanitation, receiving, invoices and time cards).
- Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word ,Aloha POS, Open Table. InDesign and Ctuit a plus.
- Servsafe, Food Safety Handler certifications required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a management position with supervisory responsibilities for a full service, high volume restaurant, hotel, or other food and beverage establishment with a similar capacity and clientele.
-Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours, as needed.
