Mordecai, a new bi-level cocktail bar and restaurant, will open this spring inside the upcoming Hotel Zachary in the heart of Wrigleyville. Created by Chef Matthias Merges of Folkart Restaurant Management and nationally acclaimed cocktail bar Billy Sunday, the new space will offer an exceptional cocktail experience. Mordecai’s back bar will feature one of the country’s largest selections of rare and collectible vintage spirits.

A beacon for spirit aficionados, Mordecai will offer a new destination for both discerning drinkers and casual cocktail fans. Guests can enjoy limited edition pours and classic drinks, ideal for game day celebrations or cocktail-fueled evenings. A full menu will serve refined, American-inspired bar fare and grilled entrees.

Mordecai is looking for a talented Sous chef to be our number two and to help run a modern contemporary American restaurant that is grounded in a true dedication to craft. Minimum two years experience in a Sous chef role or chef de cuisine roll required. Experience in labor and food control is a must as well as being versed in modern technique.
