Job Details

Bar-backs at Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants are the backbones of our bar operations. Primary daily duties include prepping and stocking all bar-garnishes, juices and syrups, washing, polishing and stocking all required bar-tools and glassware, and maintaining all par-levels at each bar-station. Bar-backs are also expected to assist Bartenders with their daily duties and maintain constant communication with restaurant team members to ensure speed of service and service-quality standards are met in order for guests to be treated to memorable hospitality experiences.

GUEST SERVICE
Consistently provides guests with a warm welcome.
Anticipates and accommodates guest needs throughout service.

OPERATIONS
Conducts daily bar inspections.
Sets up the bar according to layout standards.
Washes and polishes all glassware, silverware, plates, and bar-tools needed for service.
Maintains bar par-levels throughout service.
Maintains bar cleanliness and organization while on duty.
Prepares all juices, garnishes and syrups needed for service.
Stocks refrigeration units with beer, wine, juice, and water products.
Labels all perishables as per DOH and company guidelines.
Conducts bread and water service at the bar, (when applicable.)
Assists Bartenders in serving and clearing food and beverage orders.
Replaces used dishes and silverware.
Restocks condiments as needed.
Assists in counting china, glass, silver and linen.
Conducts all required Opening, Side-Work, Hand-Over and Closing Duties as outlined by Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants and management.
Performs additional tasks at the direction of management.

QUALITY CONTROL
Consistently maintains Grooming Standards.
Maintains work-area and restaurant cleanliness and organization.
Ensures all service-items needed at the bar are consistently available, clean and well maintained.
Ensures foods and beverages served meet Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants quality standards.
Reviews, understands and communicates guest-preference data to appropriate persons.

KNOWLEDGE
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all bar menu-items, ingredients and preparation processes.
Able to properly identify food and beverage items and ingredients based on appearance.
Consistently able to speak confidently about the cocktail menu and to offer well-informed guidance in the selection of beverages.
Maintains an understanding of the proper steps of service required of all FOH positions.

PROBLEM SOLVING & JUDGEMENT
Is always pro-active and identifies potential problems before they arise.
“Owns” problems when they arise and takes responsibility by finding solutions.
Makes appropriate decisions, which are in the best interest of the guest, the employees and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to communicate in and understand English.
Must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Must be able to work at a rapid pace and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift at least 50 pounds.
