Job Details

Hosts at Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants provide guest-service to the highest quality standard, as they generally represent the first and final interaction point between guests and our company. Primary daily duties include warmly-greeting guests entering the restaurant and providing a fond farewell to guests exiting the restaurant. In addition, Hosts are responsible for managing table-inventory through our reservations software, seating guests in the dining room, presenting menus to seated guests and communicating guest details and preferences to relevant team members to ensure service-quality standards are met in order for guests to be treated to memorable hospitality experiences.

GUEST SERVICE
Consistently provides guests with a warm welcome.
Anticipates and accommodates guest needs throughout service.
Establishes positive relationships with guests by making them happy.
Notes and communicates guest preferences, special requests and arrangements for special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries.

Attends to basic guest inquiries including general restaurant information, directions, lost credit cards, receipt requests, large party reservations, and gift card requests.
Consistently provides guests with a fond farewell.
Conducts daily inspections of the Host-stand.
Sets up the Host-stand.
Maintains cleanliness and organization at the restaurant entrance and Host-stand.
Ensures tables are laid out and set-up according to daily floor plans.
Assists in setting up the dining room.
Monitors menu-printing and preparation.
Monitors guest waiting times and checks in on waiting guests.
Seats guests in the dining room.
Communicates guest preferences, and table-specific details to relevant team members.
Monitors tables and marking dining statuses on Reserve
Assists in bussing tables, restocking service stations and resetting tables when needed.
Assists in delivering food and beverage orders to local-area customers.
Updates guest notes and preferences.
Handles any guest requests or complaints within reason, or referring guests to Managers on duty if and when necessary.
Completes, processes and mails Gift Cards.
Facilitates guest car-services and coat-services when necessary.
Conducts all required Opening, Side-Work, Hand-Over and Closing Duties as outlined by Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants and management.
Performs additional tasks at the direction of management.

QUALITY CONTROL
Consistently maintains Grooming Standards.
Maintains work-area and restaurant cleanliness and organization.
Ensures guest preferences and special requests are consistently inputted, reviewed, understood and communicated while on duty.

KNOWLEDGE
Is familiar with local offices, attractions, dining and entertainment establishments.
Is able to provide accurate directions to all restaurants and various major destinations within the city.
Maintains Restaurant knowledge and information, including menu, staff, management team, private events, and open house.
Is able to advise guests on hours of operation, valet parking, dress code, and menu and beverage choices for lunch, brunch, and dinner for all restaurant locations.
Maintains an understanding of the proper steps of service required of all FOH positions.

PROBLEM SOLVING & JUDGEMENT
Is always pro-active and identifies potential problems before they arise.
“Owns” problems when they arise and takes responsibility by finding solutions.
Makes appropriate decisions, which are in the best interest of the guest, the employees and the company.
Ensures all guest inquiries and complaints are handled in a timely manner. Directing complaints to General Manager, Guest Relations Director, and Owners, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to communicate in and understand English.
Must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills.
Must possess excellent basic math skills and have experience operating a POS system.
Must have worked in a similar position at a comparable restaurant for at least one year.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to work at a rapid pace and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
