Talented Server needed at a new elite downtown Chicago restaurant and hotel.

SMASHotels has set its sights high on competing with some of Chicago's most elite restaurants, when it opens its new, ground up, one-of-kind, Hotel EMC2, and its marquee restaurant, the Albert.

The new hotel and restaurant celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences.

This unique property is located in the heart of the Chicago's Magnificent Mile, and is being developed by the creator of theWit Hotel. Hotel EMC2 is a member of Marriott's elite luxury Autograph Collection Hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in casual to fine-dining settings
  • A passion for food, beverage (especially beer!), and knowledge
  • The ability to multitask while demonstrating grace under pressure
  • The ability to anticipate and exceed varying guests needs
  • A positive, upbeat attitude and the desire to provide excellent hospitality
  • Focus and direction to thrive in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment

Responsibilities of the Server position include, and are not limited to:

  • Learning about and educating guests on our extensive wine, and liquor program
  • Learning about and educating guests on our daily changing menu and how to properly pair food with beverage
  • Precise order taking and correctly sending information to the kitchen
  • Constant communication with management, kitchen, bar, and fellow floor staff regarding guest likes, dislikes, needs, potential issues, etc.

Qualifications for all candidates:

- High energy a must 
- Team focused attitude 
- An unyielding drive to exceed guests expectations 
- Flexible scheduling but must be available to work Friday and Saturday nights and holidays.
