Centennial Crafted Beer + Eatery is Seeking an experienced, passionate General Manager with the ability to deliver an outstanding customer experience.  This position would oversee all Front of House Bar operations and will report to the owner. 


Centennial Crafted Beer + Eatery is a recently opened craft beer bar/restaurant in River North, and we feature an elevated food menu that complements our passion for beer. We are seeking a motivated individual with an appetite for hard work and dedication to the industry life.  The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our guest satisfaction and overall success of the restaurant. Ideal candidate should display passion for food and craft beer.


Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the operation of restaurant and the training and development of assisting management and hourly staff.  Work with the team in problem solving, organizing, constructive discipline and setting the direction of the business in day to day operations.  Drive sales, control costs & payroll, and uphold the service standards of the restaurant. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all FOH employees including Assistant General Manager, Beverage Director, Bartenders, Servers, Hosts, and all other FOH Staff
  • Accountable for all facets of FOH operations
  • Responsible for financial success and meeting required budgets
  • Responsible for employee payroll, controlling inventory, budgeting and cost control, ordering supplies, and cash handling
  • Responsible for hiring, scheduling, training, staff policies, monitoring staff performance, menu updates, reservations management, basic social media updates, POS programming,
  • Active involvement in Marketing and PR activities, as well as planning and implementing in-house special events, beer releases and tappings, other industry functions, and private events
  • Drive sales through consistent service, relevant marketing and social media efforts, genuine hospitality, sourcing high quality products and controlling costs
  • Conduct daily shift meetings, use this opportunity to educate & motivate
  • Ensure that health and safety standards and liquor regulations are obeyed. Ensure team members have proper certifications (Food Handlers, BASSET, Cicerone, etc.) and evaluate health and safety practices against standards


Skills Required:

  • Candidates should have 3+ years of experience as a GM, AGM, or equivalent
  • Must possess strong knowledge of craft beer, spirits, beverage and food industry trends
  • Certified Beer Server or Certified Cicerone preferred
  • Experience with full-service, high-volume restaurant management
  • Must display full understanding of the menu and excellent communication between front and back of house
  • Ability to coach and mentor and create success for employees, and enhance the skills of those around them
  • Ability to apply creative solutions to practical problems, maintain composure and professionalism at all times
  • Must be able to build guest rapport and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to build relationships within the food and beverage community, primarily within the craft beer industry
  • Strong leader and communicator and ability to inspire staff
  • Detail-oriented and must possess administrative and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with social media interaction and marketing
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Highly organized and process oriented
