Come join the kitchen team at Tosca Cafe!!!
Tosca is looking for hardworking and career-driven LINE COOKS to join our team.
Tosca Cafe has received 3 stars two times from SF Chronicle food critic, Michael Bauer and has maintained its place on The SF Chronicle's Top 100 Bay Area restaurants in each of its first three years in existence. In Tosca's first year we were awarded #4 on Bon Appetit's Hot Ten and was also included in Esquire Magazine's Top 10 New Restaurants. Tosca provides a great opportunity to learn from, and work alongside, a small team of experienced and dedicated Chefs.
Line cooks are responsible for setting up and breaking down their own station. Hot line cooks grill and roast proteins from raw, in service. All cooks, hot and cold, are responsible for properly seasoning/dressing and plating dishes on each individual's station. We do not pass and plate, sous vide, or par-cook. We maintain high standards and expect hard work and a commitment to consistency from every kitchen employee.
Starting rates as high as $18/hr, for the right candidates with OT built into all line cooks' schedules. Health benefits and vacation are also offered for full-time employees. Opportunities for promotion are also available to deserving employees.

Tosca Cafe in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood opened in Fall 2013. Renovations to the now nearly 100-year-old space honor the charm and character maintained by former owner Jeannette Etheredge. In the kitchen, Executive Chef Josh Even works to craft an Italian-inspired menu informed by the rhythm of the seasons and unparalleled Bay Area produce. Dishes are comforting, a reflection of Even's childhood growing up on Long Island in an Italian-American community, and refined through pristine ingredients and execution. Given Tosca’s history as a bar, cocktails are a focus with classic and seasonal offerings, as well as an homage to Tosca's famous house cappuccino, a holdover from Prohibition times made with chocolate, steamed milk and a shot of brandy. An impressive wine list spotlights Italian varietals and new and old school California vintages. Since opening, Tosca has garnered critical acclaim from The New York Times and The San Francisco Chronicle, where it was awarded three glowing stars in May 2014 and, again, in July 2016. Tosca was also recognized as one of Bon Appétit and Esquire magazines’ top ten best new restaurants in 2014.
