SERVER — SAMI & SUSU
Sami & Susu is a 19-seat Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant and natural wine bar on the Lower East Side, and we’re looking for a server to join our team.
We’re a small restaurant, which means our servers are an important part of the entire experience. We’re looking for someone who is warm, confident and genuinely enjoys taking care of people — without making hospitality feel scripted or overly formal.
Our menu is seasonal and rooted in Mediterranean cooking, with a strong natural wine program. We want someone who is curious about food and wine, comfortable talking about both, and interested in continuing to learn. Strong wine knowledge is a plus, but curiosity, good instincts and a willingness to learn matter just as much.
Because we operate with a small team, everyone works closely together. There isn’t much separation between “my table” and “your table.” We help each other, communicate constantly, pay attention to the room and do what needs to be done to make service work.
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $15/hour + tips
• Tips typically range from $250–$450 per shift
• Shifts are typically 4–6 hours
• 3–5 shifts per week
• Benefits available after 3 months

• Availability for evening and weekend shifts

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($12.00 - $15.00) plus tips
Estimated Weekly Tips: $1,000.00

We care about doing things properly, continuing to learn, and creating a restaurant that feels warm and alive rather than overly formal.
Sami & Susu was founded by Amir Nathan and chef Jordan Anderson in June 2020, during the height of the pandemic. What started as a delivery and pickup project quickly built a following, leading us to open our permanent home on Orchard Street in July 2021.
Today, we serve dinner seven nights a week and continue to evolve while keeping the spirit of the restaurant small, personal and distinctly New York.
