Host — Hudson VU + Hudson Local
Hudson VU is a rooftop destination in Manhattan known for its elevated yet approachable atmosphere, high energy, and polished hospitality. Our newly opened cabaret at Hudson Local brings the same spirit of hospitality into an intimate live entertainment setting, creating a unique portfolio of dining, nightlife, and performance experiences.
We’re looking for a Host who understands that the front door sets the tone for the entire guest experience — whether welcoming guests for dinner and drinks at Hudson VU or setting the stage for an evening of live entertainment at Hudson Local.
This role is about more than managing reservations. It’s about creating a warm, seamless, and memorable first impression while keeping the flow of the room intentional, organized, and efficient.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome every guest with warmth, confidence, and genuine hospitality
- Manage reservations and guest notes through Resy with accuracy and urgency
- Control the door, pacing, and flow of the dining room
- Effectively manage walk-ins, waitlists, large parties, and guest expectations
- Welcome and assist guests attending performances at the Hudson Local cabaret
- Communicate clearly and proactively with management, servers, bartenders, and entertainment teams
- Monitor the room and anticipate guest and operational needs
- Maintain a polished, professional presence throughout service
- Represent both Hudson VU and Hudson Local with consistency and enthusiasm
What We’re Looking For
- Previous hosting or hospitality experience preferred
- Tock and Resy experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Warm, confident, and naturally hospitable personality
- Ability to remain composed and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong awareness of timing, pacing, and the overall guest experience
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Interest in hospitality, nightlife, live entertainment, or the NYC dining scene
- A team-oriented attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($23.00 - $25.00)
