Le Chêne is a French restaurant on Carmine Street, listed in the Michelin Guide New York City in our first year. Chef Alexia Duchêne (Frenchie London, Taillevent, Top Chef France) leads the kitchen. The wine program runs close to 1,500 references with a focus on French wines.
We are expanding and we are looking for a Captain to grow with us.
The role
You own your section. You guide guests through the menu with confidence, run service with precision and warmth, and work hand in hand with our sommeliers. Our style is what we call Invisible Luxury: the ease of a neighborhood bistro, the standards of a Michelin dining room.
What we offer
- $11.35 per hour plus tip pool (Captain: 5 points). Estimated weekly tips $2,500 - $3,000
- Employer-paid health insurance from your start date
- Full-time hours, with a stable schedule as we move to 7 days
- Daily staff meal, 30% dining discount
- Weekly training (wine, service, menu) every Friday
- A team that is building toward a Michelin star, and means it
Who you are
- 2+ years of fine dining service experience, NYC preferred
- Real wine curiosity (you don't need to be a somm, you need to care)
- Calm under pressure, precise, warm
