Joy Time Kitchen is looking for a part-time Prep Cook to help with our weekly chicken production at our commercial kitchen in Chantilly.
The work includes cutting and preparing raw chicken, frying chicken in batches, or both, depending on your experience. We are especially interested in someone who is comfortable doing both chicken prep and commercial fryer work.
We have an established process and will provide training on our specific cutting standards, recipe, and frying method.
Responsibilities may include:
- Cutting and preparing raw chicken according to our size standards
- Removing excess fat and checking for bone
- Preparing and frying chicken in batches
- Operating a commercial fryer safely and confidently
- Following our recipe and production process
- Handling raw chicken safely
- Keeping the work area and equipment clean
- Cleaning up after production
Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience is required. Commercial fryer experience is strongly preferred, especially experience frying chicken or handling higher-volume fryer production.
Candidates may focus on chicken prep, frying, or both. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to handle both cutting and frying.
Most importantly, we need someone who is reliable, arrives on time, works carefully, and can follow our process consistently.
This position is usually 1–2 days per week, depending on our weekly production needs. A typical production shift is around 7 hours. Frying shifts may involve approximately 100 lbs of chicken per shift.
Once fully trained and able to work independently, the weekly schedule can be flexible based on availability.
Pay: $18–$25/hour, depending on experience, responsibilities, and ability to work independently.
