Peas & Carrots Hospitality, the restaurant group of Chef Zack Sklar, was founded in Birmingham, Michigan with the opening of our first restaurant, Social Kitchen & Bar, a contemporary American restaurant focusing on refined comfort food. From there we expanded successfully with Mex and Beau’s Grillery, both also in the metro Detroit area. We are a team of highly motivated leaders growing within the hospitality industry, with the addition of 5 more properties in the near future. This is Chef Zack Sklar’s first venture into the Chicago market in collaboration with Chef de Cuisine Chef Ryan Sand who honed his skills in some of New York’s most highly regarded restaurants including Thomas Keller’s per se and Bouchon Bakery, Café Boulud and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Bernie’s is set in an inviting and casual yet refined space that will feature a seasonal and progressive Mediterranean focused menu, craft cocktails, a thoughtfully procured wine list with attentive and gracious service.
