East Rock Coffee is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Barista to join our Garden City team. We are looking for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced café environment, leads by example, and is committed to delivering exceptional coffee and guest experiences.
As Lead Barista, you will help oversee daily café operations while maintaining high standards in beverage quality, customer service, cleanliness, and team performance. This role is ideal for someone with strong espresso knowledge, leadership ability, and a hospitality-first mindset.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare high-quality espresso drinks, coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks
• Lead shifts and support daily café operations
• Train and mentor baristas on drink preparation, workflow, and customer service standards
• Maintain consistency in beverage quality and presentation
• Assist with inventory, restocking, and organization
• Ensure cleanliness and food safety standards are consistently followed
• Handle busy rush periods efficiently and professionally
• Support management in maintaining a positive and productive team environment
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2–3 years of barista experience required
• Previous leadership or supervisory café experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of espresso machines, milk steaming, and café workflow
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
• Weekend availability required

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $27.00) plus tips
