Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation for various dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Support cooking activities by assisting chefs with meal assembly and plating
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and sanitized after use
- Help with catering events or special meal preparations as needed
- Adhere to dietary department standards and assist in serving meals when required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of quality meals
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary aide work, food industry, or restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools and equipment
- Understanding of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with meal preparation for special diets or catering is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Prior experience in dietary departments or culinary settings is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
