About the Front Server Position:

As a Front Server at PERILLA Korean American Steakhouse, you play a central role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. You are responsible for guiding guests through their meal with warmth, knowledge, and attentiveness while upholding our standards of hospitality. From menu presentation to service execution, your professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care ensure that every guest feels welcomed, informed, and well taken care of throughout their visit.

Dinner availability is required.

Key tasks include:

  • Execute opening, in-service, and closing checklists with precision and attention to detail.
  • Actively participate in pre-shift meetings, contributing to clear communication and team alignment.
  • Stay updated on announcements and updates via the Sling app, reacting to each message to confirm acknowledgment.
  • Prepare your station and yourself for service to ensure a smooth and organized shift.
  • Greet guests promptly, explain menus, and guide them through food and beverage selections.
  • Accurately take and input orders using the POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages efficiently while maintaining proper service timing and standards.
  • Assist with water service and table maintenance throughout the meal.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and support staff to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, server stations, and dining areas.
  • Support teammates as needed, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Present checks, process payments accurately, and thank guests as they depart to ensure a positive final impression.

About the Company:

Our company, PERILLA, is named after a plant native to Korea and many East Asian countries. It is known to be very adaptable and grows vigorously in any soil. The name is an homage to our parents who are first-generation immigrants that traveled to a foreign land and rooted themselves in new soil. Our food is centered around a communal dining experience. Inspired by Korean flavors and ingredients, we offer our approach to the classic Chicago Steakhouse and modern Korean dishes, paired alongside new and exciting takes created by Chef Andrew Lim to represent the second generation of Korean Americans and the food we love to enjoy and share.

Restaurant Information:

  • Located at 225 N Wabash
  • We have a positive, teamwork-driven work environment with dedicated leaders who are present and working hands-on with the team
  • We are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service (this role is breakfast & lunch only)
  • Accessible by CTA

Compensation Information:

  • Paychecks are provided weekly every Friday
  • We offer direct deposit through ADP

Position Requirements:

  • Must have availability on: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 
  • Availability must align with service hours
  • You will be required to obtain all necessary certificates including a Food Handlers Certificate, BASSET Certificate, and an annual Sexual Harassment Training Certificate

  • Health insurance available after 90 days of employment for full-time employees averaging 32 hours a week
