Via Carota is seeking a Front of House Manager to lead daily service operations and support our team in delivering a consistently warm, thoughtful, and detail-driven guest experience.

Via Carota is fashioned in the tradition of Italian trattorias featuring the best local and seasonal products, local breweries, and Italian wines and spirits. Candidates should have knowledge of Italian cuisine and wine and be familiar with seasonal cooking and ingredients. 

We are located in the West Village - a historic, diverse neighborhood, surrounded by local regulars and a friendly community. Via Carota is a high-volume restaurant with a fast-paced and dynamic service environment. The ability to remain calm, organized, and deeply hospitality-driven during busy services is essential to this role. We are looking for someone who leads with warmth and professionalism, fosters a strong sense of teamwork, and is committed to creating a positive and supportive culture for both guests and staff. Building and maintaining strong relationships within the team is a key part of the position, as collaboration and communication are central to the way we operate each day.

Position Summary
The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of service, managing the dining room team, and ensuring smooth, efficient operations. This role requires a strong floor presence, clear communication, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations and maintain a strong presence on the floor during service
  • Lead, support, and motivate servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
  • Manage service flow, reservations, and table management to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Uphold and enforce service standards, steps of service, and overall hospitality expectations
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen to ensure clear communication and pacing
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift coverage as needed
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures and ensure side work is completed properly
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all front-of-house areas

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of management experience in a high-volume, service-driven restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, and hospitality standards
  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage high-pressure service environments
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Professional, detail-oriented, and solution-driven
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation & Schedule

  • $75,000-$115,000
  • Full-time position
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required
