Job Details

South Village Hospitality is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chef de Cuisine with a strong Italian culinary background to lead kitchen operations at one of our flagship NYC venues.

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with exceptional organizational skills, high-volume experience, and a deep understanding of Italian cuisine, including fresh pasta production, wood-fired cooking, and elevated yet approachable Italian dining.

Our venues combine restaurant dining, large-scale private events, nightlife energy, and dynamic hospitality programming. This role is ideal for a chef who understands both culinary execution and business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all kitchen operations and service standards
  • Manage and develop BOH management and culinary teams
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and operational excellence
  • Uphold and evolve Italian culinary standards across the menu
  • Drive labor efficiency and food cost management
  • Execute systems for prep, ordering, inventory, and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with ownership and beverage management on menu development and operational strategy
  • Ensure compliance with all DOH and safety standards
  • Lead high-volume services, brunches, and private event execution
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of NYC kitchen leadership experience
  • Strong Italian cuisine background required
  • Experience with handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, and high-volume Italian restaurants strongly preferred
  • Proven experience managing high-volume restaurant operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to lead calmly and effectively during peak service
  • Experience with scheduling, food costing, inventory, and team development
  • Passion for hospitality and creating a strong kitchen culture

Compensation Details
