Restaurant Supervisor

Surreal Global Kitchen is a vibrant, globally inspired restaurant in the heart of National Landing (Crystal City), Arlington, VA. Part of the award-winning Seven Reasons Group — the team behind Michelin-starred Imperfecto and DC staple Seven Reasons — Surreal reimagines American comfort classics through a Latin and international lens, all within a one-of-a-kind tropical garden oasis.

We're looking for a Restaurant Supervisor + Server who leads by example on the floor. This is a hybrid role designed for a hospitality professional who is ready to take the next step — someone our team trusts, our guests remember, and our management can count on.

We are looking for individuals with humility and a high-energy, enthusiastic attitude!

As a Server:

• Deliver warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service consistent with Surreal's upscale casual standards
• Guide guests through a globally inspired menu with genuine enthusiasm
• Collaborate with BOH and FOH teammates to ensure a seamless dining experience

As a Supervisor:

• Perform opening and closing procedures with accuracy and accountability
• Handle cash responsibly and ensure end-of-shift reconciliation
• Visit tables to ensure guest satisfaction and represent management on the floor
• Own guest issues as they arise — resolving concerns with professionalism, sound judgment, and a hospitality-first mindset
• Make real-time staffing decisions for your shift, including section assignments and cut times
• Participate in management meetings and contribute meaningfully to operational initiatives
• Support management on ongoing projects including training, standards compliance, and floor coverage
• Act as the first point of contact for team questions and minor issues during service

• 2+ years of upscale casual or fine dining serving experience (required)
• A natural leader who earns respect through professionalism, not just title
• Reliable, trustworthy, and highly accountable — management should never have to wonder
• Strong communication skills and a calm, solutions-oriented mindset under pressure
• Genuine passion for hospitality and team culture
• Availability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
