General Manager — Café Colmado

Café Colmado is a neighborhood café inspired by the energy of everyday gathering places—where coffee, music, conversation, and culture come together. We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead our space as both an operator and community builder, bringing the brand to life through people, programming, and provisions.

About the Role 

The General Manager is the operational backbone of Café Colmado. This person owns the daily execution of the shop: service, staffing, ordering, labor control, food cost, cleanliness, training, vendor follow-through, and the guest experience from open to close.

Café Colmado is not a typical café. It is a flagship cultural space and launchpad for a growing CPG brand, with founder-led events, partnerships, content, and community programming. The GM's role is to bring discipline, consistency, and operational excellence to the business that supports that larger platform. You won't be building from scratch — the founders bring an established content and events platform and will remain active partners in community development, giving you a strong foundation and an engaged audience from day one.

The right person is highly organized, hands-on, and calm under pressure. They know how to keep a small hospitality business tight: the team is scheduled correctly, labor targets are met, food is ordered, product is available, the shop is clean, service is fast, and every guest walks into a space that feels sharp, warm, and well-run.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Experience Leadership

• Serve as the ambassador of Café Colmado, ensuring every detail—from music to service to atmosphere—feels intentional and alive
• Create an environment rooted in Latin hospitality: warm energy, natural rhythm, and a strong sense of place
• Build relationships with local artists, DJs, makers, and community voices

Programming & Community Engagement

• Host a dynamic, culturally rooted calendar of programming—classes, socials, weekend events, private gatherings, and neighborhood experiences—that celebrates local Latin culture through art, music, food, and community partnerships
• Leverage the founders' established content and events platform to amplify programming, reach new audiences, and deepen community ties
• Drive repeat traffic and loyalty through experiences that feel authentic and culturally resonant
• Establish Café Colmado as a daily destination, not just a stop

Business & Financial Ownership

• Own the P&L with full accountability for revenue growth, labor management, and cost control
• Identify new revenue opportunities through events, partnerships, and retail
• Drive profitability without compromising brand integrity

Operations & Team Leadership

• Hire, train, and lead a team that delivers warm, energetic, and genuine hospitality
• Build a culture grounded in pride, accountability, and care
• Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure excellence across product, service, and environment

Growth & Neighborhood Impact

• Build a loyal following that sees Café Colmado as part of their daily rhythm
• Grow the membership base to drive repeat visitation
• Use data and instinct to drive continuous improvement
• Act as a connector within the neighborhood—bringing people together through shared experiences

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or a related field
• Strong financial acumen with hands-on P&L management experience
• Experience producing or managing events and community-driven programming
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a balance of creativity and operational discipline
• Thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where ownership and initiative are expected
