The Garret Group is seeking eager and enthusiastic Hosts to join our team for the upcoming opening of Sports & Rec in Nora District. We are looking for friendly, organized, and hospitality-driven individuals to join our front-of-house team.

Hosts are the first impression of the guest experience—welcoming guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists, and helping ensure smooth restaurant flow throughout service. We’re seeking positive, professional team players who thrive in a fast-paced environment and genuinely enjoy creating memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
• Manage reservations, seating flow, and waitlists using platforms such as Resy, OpenTable, and other booking systems
• Communicate reservation policies, wait times, and venue information clearly and confidently
• Answer phones, voicemails, emails, and guest inquiries in a timely manner
• Coordinate with management, servers, and kitchen teams to maintain efficient service flow
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when needed
• Process gift certificate transactions and related documentation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and surrounding areas
• Assist other front-of-house departments during service as needed
• Learn menu offerings, beverage selections, and service standards across all active spaces in the venue
• Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to contribute positively each shift

Qualifications

• Previous host, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Comfortable using reservation systems and basic technology
• Professional demeanor with a guest-first mindset
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a high-volume environment
• Team-oriented attitude with willingness to learn and help others
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move for 4–8 hour shifts
• Frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
• Bend, reach, walk, and move throughout the shift as needed
