Hometown Bar-B-Que is part of a high-volume, multi-concept hospitality group known for quality, consistency, and a strong operational backbone. Based out of Industry City, this role oversees a central commissary kitchen that supports all sister locations as well as a growing catering business, producing for multiple restaurants daily.
We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to take ownership of both commissary and on-site kitchen operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is highly organized, detail-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment.

The Role
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the commissary kitchen while also managing an adjacent restaurant. You’ll work closely with chefs and leadership to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency across all areas.
What You’ll Do
Commissary Kitchen Oversight
Manage daily operations of a high-volume commissary supporting multiple restaurants and catering
Hire, train, and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance oversight
Oversee purchasing, inventory, and cost controls
Maintain par levels and ensure accurate production planning
Ensure consistent product quality across all locations and catering programs
Handle bill entry and support administrative functions
Maintain compliance with all NYC Department of Health standards
Restaurant Operations
Oversee staffing, scheduling, and shift management for the adjacent restaurant
Support prep, service flow, and overall kitchen execution
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to standards
Menu & Program Support
Collaborate with chefs on new item rollouts across concepts and catering
Support costing, prep processes, and quality control for new and existing menu items
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume, multi-unit or multi-concept kitchen environment
Strong leadership and team management skills
Experience with purchasing, inventory, and cost control
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable balancing both operational and administrative responsibilities
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
NYC Food Handler Certificate required
