Position Title: Maître D’ (Front-of-House Lead)

We are a small, high-volume fine dining restaurant in the heart of Chelsea seeking an experienced and polished Maître D’ to lead our front-of-house team and elevate the guest experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment and understands the balance between efficiency and hospitality at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first and last point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm, professional, and memorable experience
- Manage reservations, seating flow, and table turns with precision in a high-volume setting
- Coordinate closely with management, kitchen, and service staff to maintain seamless operations
- Handle VIP guests, special requests, and guest recovery with discretion and poise
- Maintain an organized reservation system (Resy/OpenTable or similar)
- Lead and support the host team; train and uphold service standards
- Monitor dining room pacing and guest satisfaction in real time
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Maître D’, Head Host, or similar role in a fine dining or upscale restaurant
- Strong knowledge of reservation platforms and floor management strategies
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
