The Chop Shop is looking for hungry, motivated line cooks to join our award winning team.
Part & Full Time positions available immediately! Open Availability is a major Plus!

Experience working a high volume grill and making charcuterie from scratch are ideal skills.
Opening in Oct 2013 the Chop Shop is now approaching its 4 Year Anniversary and is poised to continue growing it's reputation as stand-out Chicago restaurant. Named one of Chicago's best new bars, best new restaurant 2014, and one of the best burgers in America, the Chop Shop is a three headed monster of a space featuring multiple divisions and a wide variety of culinary offerings. We feature a full in-house butcher and deli operation, restaurant in the downstairs Butcher Bar (holding 80 people) and the upstairs Butcher's Brother (seating 75), patio (seating 75) and 500 person event space in back.
The restaurant focuses on working with the freshest local ingredients, providing a warm and friendly experience, and an unpretentious approach to cocktails beer, and wine.

Requirements: 3 years working experience in kitchen

Essential Functions: Must be willing and able to:
Properly follow recipe formats and food storage protocol
Maintain high level of food quality kitchen
Maintain daily Temp. Logs
Maintain proper food prep lists and par levels for day to day operation
Promote established kitchen culture and positive work environment
Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety
Properly learn to utilize and maintain cooking equipment
Work with high sense of urgency
Practice safe and sanitary food handling protocol
Taste and maintain a consistent flavor profile per Chef's requirements
Work at a high pace in a high volume environment

Accountabilities:
Be an active team player
Understand and follow supervisor's instructions
Maintain a well manicured appearance and personal that reflects the established image of the restaurant
Perform under more than average stressful conditions

Qualifications Standards:
Refer a minimum of 3 years full service restaurant experience or the equivalent.
Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Self-motivator
Project a friendly, courteous and pleasant attitude
Get along with co-workers
Safely transport containers that weigh up to 30 lbs. From any table to the dish washing area

Compensation details
13.00-19.00/hr (Based on experience and availability)

Compensation details

hourly rate based on experience $13-19 per hour
