Job Details
Buttercup is a newly opened spot located in the South Loop neighborhood that operates as a cafe during the day and transforms into an amaro-focused cocktail bar at night. We are currently looking to add a chef de partie / cook, to our kitchen team. 

At Buttercup, you will be responsible for running a specific station, ensuring the quality and timely preparation of dishes by following Buttercup service standards. The CDP plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of service and guest satisfaction. In addition, a CDP follows the direction of kitchen management to plan, organizes and prepares the kitchen for service.

A successful Buttercup CDP maintains a positive attitude, is obsessed with details, process driven and calm while working under pressure.

A Buttercup team member holds themselves and their teammates accountable to the Buttercup service standards and values, while being positive and supportive of their teammates.
 
Main Duties:
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes within your assigned station
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Monitor stock levels for your station
  • A coachable spirit, ability to work in a team environment and autonomously

Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules across seven days, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about food service and respectful towards colleagues and guests
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy with a sense of urgency
  • Thrive in an elevated environment and maintain a calm professional demeanor, effectively problem solving under pressure
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally kneel, bend, and crouch
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
