About Somssi:
Somssi is a neighborhood restaurant in Greenwich Village, rooted in a pan-Asian pantry and opening in June 2026. The debut concept from Ahris Kim of NA:EUN Hospitality – the team behind Atoboy, Atomix, and NARO – the name “Somssi” (솜씨) reflects a sense of craft: skill shaped through time, instinct, and experience.
Developed in partnership with NA:EUN Hospitality, Somssi offers an approachable, neobistro-style menu of shareable plates, drawing from Asian and European ingredients, techniques, and immigrant nostalgia. The experience is complemented by a thoughtful beverage program, featuring a well-traveled wine list, sake, and playful “little beverages.”
Designed as a place of gathering, Somssi is warm, lively, and generous—where hospitality is rooted in genuine care, and both guests and team members feel a sense of belonging.

Job Description:
Responsible for executing thoughtful, well-paced service while maintaining strong fundamentals, attention to detail, and clear communication.
Core responsibilities include:
- Providing warm, attentive, and composed service throughout the guest experience
- Guiding guests through the menu with a clear and steadily developing understanding of food, beverage, and service style
- Accurately inputting and managing orders through POS, including modifiers, allergies, and special requests
- Maintaining awareness of table progress, pacing of courses, and overall section flow during service
- Taking ownership of a section with support from management, ensuring consistency and attention to detail
- Communicating clearly and consistently with Server Assistants, kitchen, and management to ensure smooth execution
- Assisting with food running, bussing, resetting, and maintaining dining room organization as service flow requires
- Building foundational knowledge of wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic offerings to better support guest interactions
- Supporting and collaborating with Server Assistants and teammates to maintain a strong, team-oriented environment
- Completing all opening, closing, and side work responsibilities with consistency and care
- Demonstrating initiative in anticipating guest and team needs, while continuing to grow in confidence and service presence
- Supporting additional service or operational needs as they arise
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of serving experience
- Broad and flexible availability to work evenings and weekends
- Possess warm, polished, and welcoming floor presence
- Must be able to demonstrate an extensive depth of knowledge of food and beverage
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 10- 20lbs if necessary
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant
