Zahav is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dedicated team. This person will work in a fast-paced, fine dining kitchen in a restaurant built on bringing exceptional hospitality.
This Sous Chef will be on a leadership team that is passionate about fostering a positive work culture, deepening their team’s culinary knowledge, and is committed to the guest experience. This individual is exceedingly dependable, puts forth a great attitude, and has a desire to learn and grow each day.
Direct responsibilities include:
- Work hand-in-hand with fellow FOH and BOH managers to oversee service while continuously thinking of areas for growth
- Be team oriented and ready to step in and come to the aid of your staff at any time
- Support service by jumping in on food preparation, on the line, and in dish plating
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Be a strong and diligent communicator
- Ensure the kitchen staff operates in a timely manner
- Ensure food safety, sanitation regulations, and product quality are of the highest standard
- Oversee inventory and reordering of supplies
- Recruit and train new staff for all BOH positions
- Write the kitchen team schedule
- Be self-motivated to provide exceptional hospitality
This is a 5 day per week position, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 3-11pm.
Zahav is the anchor of the CookNSolo Restaurants family, co-owned by chef Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, who combined are five-time James Beard Award winners. The other distinctive CookNSolo concepts are Laser Wolf, Dizengoff, Goldie, K’Far, Jaffa Bar, and Lilah Events, all in Philadelphia.
