General Manager

The Clayton is an ultra high-end private members club providing the opportunity for like minded individuals to enjoy cocktails, cigars and great company. With locations in Chicago, Washington D.C. and soon to be Miami, we are rapidly expanding and seeking experienced operators to join our team.

Our newest location, Washington, D.C. is in need of a General Manager. As the General Manager, you'll report directly to the Founder/Owner, with support from our Chicago Director or Operations,  to ensure continuity and day-to-day operations of the venue run smoothly, sales and membership targets are achieved, and overall, drive the success of the venue. You will oversee a staff of bartenders, servers, server assistants, chefs and hosts/hostesses. We're seeking someone with hospitality management experience who is firm but approachable and wants to be part of a quickly expanding team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Ensure shifts run smoothly with all FOH positions effectively performing their duties before, during, and after shifts
• Coordinate with staff as needed to minimize ticket times and ensure great service
• Facilitate excellent customer service and resolve guest issues as they arise
• Lead and develop individual team members, coaching and utilizing corrective action when necessary
• Adhere to all ABRA and Department of Health regulations
• Oversee the cleanliness of venue facilities and coordinate servicing for any maintenance issues
• Perform administrative and operational duties (e.g., invoicing, hiring, payroll)
• Make adjustments to the POS as needed
• Ensure all company policies are upheld and report concerns to the HR Manager

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience managing a bar/restaurant preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and problem solving ability
• Refined interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and guests
• Ability to stay cool and focused under pressure
• Confidence in delivering performance feedback to team members when needed
• Strong knowledge of food, beverage, inventory, and food safety
• Experience with Toast POS a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

• $110,000 to 135,000 Base Salary
• Company Health Insurance Plan offered after 30 days
• Paid Time Off and Sick Leave
