Restaurant Manager – Opening Team

Chef Sujan Sarkar is bringing his Michelin-starred tasting menu concept, Indienne, to New York City. We are seeking experienced and driven Front-of-House professionals to join our opening team and help shape one of the city’s most exciting fine dining destinations.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a restaurant from the ground up—building systems, developing a team, and delivering a world-class guest experience from day one.

Position Overview

The Restaurant Manager is a salaried leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations while maintaining an active presence on the dining room floor. This position combines hands-on service leadership with event coordination and operational development.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, hospitality-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. You will play a key role in building and leading a cohesive team while ensuring seamless execution across all areas of service.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Service

  • Lead and support the dining room team during service, ensuring precise execution and elevated guest experiences
  • Maintain Michelin-level standards of service, including etiquette, pacing, and attention to detail
  • Collaborate closely with culinary and FOH teams to ensure seamless service flow
  • Assist in developing and implementing operational systems and procedures for a new opening

Private Dining & Events

  • Manage private dining inquiries from initial contact through execution and follow-up
  • Plan and oversee all aspects of private events, including staffing, setup, service, and breakdown
  • Ensure clear and accurate communication of event details across departments
  • Maintain high guest satisfaction throughout all stages of the event experience

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead pre-service meetings and set clear expectations for each shift
  • Train, mentor, and develop FOH team members to ensure consistency and growth
  • Provide real-time coaching and performance feedback
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and hospitality
  • Maintain a strong, visible leadership presence on the floor

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Michelin-starred or equivalent fine dining environments
  • 4+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume or fine dining setting
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and build guest relationships
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and make sound decisions in real time
  • Professional presence with a genuine passion for hospitality

Compensation Details

Across his growing collection of restaurants, his work explores the depth and regional diversity of the Indian subcontinent while reimagining how Indian cuisine can exist within the modern fine dining landscape.

We offer three seasonal 9-course tasting menus: Non-Vegetarian, Vegetarian, and Vegan.
