Named for the lean, tender cheek meat that is considered the tastiest part of a fish and a delicacy in Asia, the critically-acclaimed and widely-beloved restaurant offers a menu of unabashedly intense, fresh and vivid dishes that span the diverse regions of Thailand.

Fish Cheeks is a deeply personal concept for Jenn Saesue and Chat Suansilphong that celebrates the cultural heritage and the culinary artistry found in Bangkok and beyond. Brought together by their  shared desire to bring traditional Thai cuisine to NYC, the team decided to open Fish Cheeks, offering a menu that highlights the unfiltered flavors they craved from their upbringing in Thailand and re-creates the type of convivial and communal-style dining found across the country - from the street-stalls to fine-dining restaurants.

Fish Cheeks is looking for a Floor Manager!

Primary Job Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily restaurant service operations to ensure a seamless, efficient, and exceptional guest experience
  • Monitor service standards and address operational challenges proactively to maintain consistency and quality
  • Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned, leading shifts and supporting staff during service
  • Lead all restaurant operations in the absence of the Assistant General Manager and General Manager
  • Complete all opening and closing duties
  • Collaborate with the Assistant General Manager and General Manager to meet financial and operational goals

Team Leadership & Development

  • Take full responsibility for the performance and development of the service team; provide ongoing training and coaching to ensure all staff operate at company standards
  • Support recruitment, training, scheduling, and mentoring of restaurant staff
    • Commit to maintaining operational excellence and actively pursue profit expansion through efficient and effective management practices
    • Support front-of-house payroll administration, ensuring timecards are accurate, breaks are properly adhered to, and time-off requests are reviewed and submitted weekly within established deadlines
    • Support FOH onboarding administration, ensuring all required payroll and employment documentation is completed, submitted, and approved prior to an employee’s first paid shiftExecute administrative tasks such as staff timekeeping and sales data entry
  • Client/Guest Service
    • Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints promptly and professionally

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises FOH staff, including servers, hosts, maitre d’s, bartenders, and support staff, and provides leadership to BOH teams in collaboration with the Assistant General Manager and General Manager
  • Oversee daily shift assignments, staff performance, and adherence to service standards
  • Conduct trainings, coaching and performance evaluations to support staff development and retention
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards across all team members

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary/Hourly ($80,000.00 - $95,000.00)
