About Almanac
Almanac is a Japanese-inspired cocktail bar rooted in precision, seasonality, and hospitality. Our food program is intentionally focused — designed to complement the bar experience through thoughtful, well-executed dishes.
We prioritize discipline, cleanliness, and consistencyResponsibilities
- Prepare and execute food with consistency, following established recipes, portioning, and quality standards
- Complete daily prep and begin items ahead of service without overproducing
- Set up station for service, including freezer pulls, mise en place, and par checks
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or out-of-stock items
- Maintain proper food storage: label, date, and rotate all products; ensure correct holding temperatures
- Properly store and label all unused items at the end of service for next shift use
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace at all times
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment with care and attention
- Work collaboratively with bar team to ensure smooth service flow
- Assist in minimizing waste and supporting food cost controls through thoughtful prep and usage
- Follow safe work practices, including proper use of equipment and adherence to health and safety standards
- Support sustainability practices and thoughtful resource usage in daily operations
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and overall operation
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years kitchen experience preferred
- Strong sense of organization, cleanliness, and discipline
- Ability to work independently in a small, focused kitchen
- Attention to detail in execution and plating
- Calm, efficient, and team-oriented mindset
- Respect for systems, standards, punctuality and consistency
Schedule
- Evening shifts (approx. 4 PM – 1 AM)
