Chef de Cuisine — Soda Club Denver (Opening Team)

We’re opening our first Soda Club outside of New York City — and we’re looking for a Chef de Cuisine to help build it from the ground up.

Soda Club began in the East Village as a response to a simple idea: that a restaurant can be both serious about craft and completely unpretentious. A place where handmade pasta, natural wine, and late-night energy coexist — where hospitality feels like a neighborhood ritual, not a transaction.

What started as a small wine bar has grown into one of NYC’s most beloved modern dining rooms. Soda Club has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its quality and value, been recognized as one of the city’s standout plant-based destinations, and continues to receive national press across The New York Times, Eater, Condé Nast, and more. Our wine program — led by partner Drew Brady, named to Wine Enthusiast’s Future 40 Tastemakers — reflects a deep commitment to independent producers and low-intervention farming.

At its core, Soda Club is a “third place” — a room that feels alive, intimate, and worth returning to again and again. The food is rooted in Italian tradition but filtered through a modern, plant-based lens: fresh pastas, thoughtful technique, and a kitchen that prioritizes restraint, clarity, and flavor over excess.

Now we’re bringing that energy to Denver.

This is not a replication — it’s an evolution. You’ll be part of the founding team responsible for translating the identity of Soda Club into a new city, a new community, and a new chapter.

In this role, you will work intensively alongside Amira Gharib, the opening chef of Soda Club NYC, directly translating the culinary language, systems, and standards that defined the original restaurant into this new space — while helping shape what it becomes next.

We’re looking for a Chef de Cuisine who can lead with clarity, cook with intention, and build a team that cares as much about the why as the how.

Role Overview

You will lead the kitchen in executing Soda Club’s culinary vision while helping shape its next phase. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for food quality, team development, and operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities 1. Leadership, Administration & Operations

  • Act as the operational leader of the kitchen, maintaining constant communication with Ownership and the Operations team
  • Oversee opening/closing procedures and daily administrative functions
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained, functional, and respected as part of the craft
  • Maintain full compliance with legal, health, and safety standards
  • Complete end-of-day reporting when needed and proactively flag issues with solutions
  • Communicate clearly and consistently across Slack, email, and in-person channels

2. Team Building & Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing culinary team
  • Set clear expectations for standards, behavior, and growth
  • Lead training programs that emphasize technique, consistency, and hospitality mindset
  • Provide ongoing feedback, mentorship, and structured performance reviews
  • Build a culture of accountability, curiosity, and mutual respect

3. Food Safety, Health & Systems

  • Maintain DOH certification and enforce all health and sanitation standards
  • Ensure safe food handling, storage, and temperature control at all times
  • Lead allergy awareness and kitchen-wide safety practices
  • Create systems that make doing things the right way the default

4. Culinary Execution & Development

  • Uphold excellence in food quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Oversee purchasing, receiving, inventory, and cost controls
  • Lead daily prep and service execution with precision and awareness
  • Collaborate on menu development, bringing new ideas that align with Soda Club’s identity
  • Work closely with Amira Gharib on opening, training, and ongoing culinary alignment
  • Continuously refine systems to improve flow, reduce waste, and elevate the guest experience

5. Culture & Representation

  • Act as a steward of Overthrow Hospitality’s values and mission
  • Build and maintain a positive, inclusive, and energized work environment
  • Participate in company initiatives, reviews, and leadership development programs
  • Represent Soda Club in the broader community and in press when needed
  • Lead by example — in standards, tone, and integrity

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($70,000.00 - $80,000.00)
