Assistant Wine Director / Floor Manager

LaRina – Fort Greene, Brooklyn

LaRina is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Assistant Wine Director / Floor Manager to join our team in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. At LaRina, we focus on handmade pasta, seasonal dishes, and a dynamic wine program featuring over 600 labels.

This hybrid role is ideal for a hospitality professional who has experience both on the floor and operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the Floor: Oversee daily operations to ensure everything runs smoothly, from coordinating the floor team to ensuring every guest has an unforgettable experience.

  • Share Your Wine Knowledge: You’ll be the go-to expert for all things Italian wine—helping guests discover new favorites from Italy’s diverse wine regions and making thoughtful pairing recommendations.

  • Create Memorable Experiences: Provide thoughtful and friendly service to guests, making sure they feel welcomed, informed, and well-cared for throughout their meal.

  • Train & Inspire the Team: Share your wine knowledge with the team, helping everyone develop their skills and understanding of Italian wines. Lead by example in providing top-notch service.

  • Keep Things Running Smoothly: Be a hands-on leader who ensures the floor is clean, organized, and set up for success. Help the team when things get busy, and always keep an eye on the guest experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for Italian Wine: You know Italy’s wine regions inside and out, from Tuscany to Sicily. You’re excited to share your knowledge with guests and the team.

  • Experience as a Sommelier or Floor Manager: You’ve worked in a similar role before and have a track record of leading a team and providing excellent guest service.

  • Wine Certification (Preferred): WSET Level 2 or 3, or something similar, would be a bonus, but more than anything, we’re looking for someone with a genuine love for Italian wines.

  • Great Communication Skills: You can easily engage with guests, explain wine pairings, and support the team in creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

  • Leadership with a Smile: You’re a natural leader who can manage the floor while keeping things light, fun, and efficient. You know how to keep the team motivated, even when things get busy.
