Since its 2019 opening, San Vicente Bungalows has established itself as a premier destination for individuals seeking a refined and intimate social experience.  Our exclusive establishment offers an oasis of tranquility, luxury, and personalized service to our esteemed members.  Building on the success of the original West Hollywood location San Vicente expanded to Santa Monica in November 2024 and New York City in March 2025.

Position Purpose

The Pastry Cook / Cake Baker is responsible for the preparation, execution, and presentation of high-quality pastries, cakes, and desserts in alignment with the club’s culinary standards. This role is responsible for delivering refined, consistent, and visually elevated offerings for members and guests. Working with precision and attention to detail, the Pastry Cook contributes to a seamless culinary experience while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

•    Prepare and execute a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts with consistency and attention to detail.
•    Assist in the production of plated desserts, specialty cakes, and baked goods for daily service and special
     events.
•    Follow recipes, techniques, and presentation standards set by the Executive Chef.
•    Maintain organization and cleanliness of the pastry station, ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
•    Monitor product quality, freshness, and proper storage of ingredients and finished items.
•    Support mise en place and daily prep to ensure efficient and timely service.
•    Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless coordination between pastry and kitchen operations.
•    Assist with inventory management, including labeling, rotation, and minimizing waste.
•    Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation at all times.
•    Support additional kitchen responsibilities as needed to uphold overall service standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Skills 

•    Prior experience in a pastry, bakery, or culinary environment, preferably within a luxury hotel, restaurant, or       private club.
•    Strong understanding of pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and dessert presentation.
•    Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
•    Ability to work with precision, consistency, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
•    Strong time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications

•    1–3 years of experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or similar role required.
•    Culinary or pastry training from a recognized school or program preferred.
•    Ability to follow recipes and execute dishes to established standards.
•    Strong work ethic with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
•    Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements
•    Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
•    Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
•    Ability to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and varying conditions.
•    Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions associated with food preparation.
•    Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($24.00 - $28.00)
