Position: Temporary Restaurant Floor Manager (4-Month Assignment)

Position Summary
Gansevoort Meatpacking is seeking a Temporary Restaurant Floor Manager to support daily operations during a leave of absence coverage. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experience, maintaining service standards, and supporting team performance in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment.
This temporary assignment presents an excellent opportunity for internal or external candidates to demonstrate leadership capabilities and operational expertise within a dynamic F&B setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day restaurant floor operations, ensuring seamless service execution
- Act as a visible leader on the floor, engaging with guests and resolving any service issues in real time
- Maintain and uphold Gansevoort service standards and brand expectations
- Supervise, coach, and support front-of-house team members, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
- Ensure proper staffing levels and assist with shift coverage as needed
- Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing feedback and guidance
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth communication and service flow
- Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reporting as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and NYC hospitality standards
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a high-volume restaurant or luxury hospitality environment
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Exceptional guest service skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings (7am), evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (preferred)
