Prep Cook

Position Responsibilities:

- Prepare hot & cold food as directed by chef(s)
- Making sandwiches and salads as directed by chef(s)
- Follow proper sanitation procedures.
- Provides support to the chef(s)which involves:
- Providing project information as needed.

Position Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: One-year cooking experience in restaurant, catering, or hotel preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:
 - Knife Skills
 - Basic equipment operation & safe handling practices
 - Cold food preparation and serving
 - Proper sanitation procedures
 - Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
 - Knowledge of a point-of-sale system preferred.
 - Nassau County Department of Health sanitation certificate preferred.
 - Ability to understand the Spanish language is helpful.

Working Conditions:
 - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
 - Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and turning.
 - Receiving of information through oral communication and a computer.
 - Exposure to heat and noise.

The hourly rate for this role is $17.72-$21.14.  The hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
