Job Details
James Beard Award-winning culinary legends, Nancy Silverton and Stephen Starr, have joined forces to bring LA’s beloved Osteria Mozza to an iconic corner of Georgetown in Washington, DC. Mozza embodies an energy and passion for dining that is the perfect match for the District’s vibrant food scene.
We are seeking a General Manager to lead a highly regarded, chef-driven restaurant rooted in ingredient integrity, thoughtful hospitality, and a deeply loyal guest base. This is a role for someone who understands that great restaurants are built in the dining room as much as in the kitchen — someone who leads with presence, sets the tone, and takes genuine pride in creating a place people want to return to again and again.
The ideal candidate is charismatic, hospitality-forward, and operationally sharp, with a strong point of view on service and a natural ability to connect with both guests and team members. This is a hands-on leadership role, working in close partnership with multiple stakeholders across a large restaurant group to ensure a seamless and consistent experience from the first guest in to the last guest out.
You should be equally comfortable on the floor and in the numbers - able to build, mentor, and retain a large team while maintaining a disciplined approach to the business.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the daily operations of an acclaimed, high-volume, quality-driven restaurant with a strong regular following
- Set and maintain the tone of the dining room — warm, polished, and highly attentive without being formal
- Partner closely with culinary leadership to ensure alignment between kitchen and front of house
- Develop and mentor a team of managers and hourly staff, building a culture of accountability and care
- Oversee financial performance including labor, cost controls, and overall profitability
- Be a constant presence on the floor - anticipating needs, supporting the team, and engaging with guests
This position offers a comprehensive package including:
- A competitive base salary
- Quarterly bonus program
- Referral bonus programs
- Paid vacation and sick time
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits coverage
- Dining discounts at over 25 affiliated STARR Restaurants
- and more!
- A minimum of 6 years of progressive management experience in well-rated restaurants
- Experience hiring, training, and mentoring a diverse team of salaried managers and hourly staff.
- Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor, management, and bottom-line profitability.
- A positive and self-motivated disposition with a commitment to excellence and team success
This is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
