Maitre D

We are looking for a Maître d’ to be part of the team at Leon's in Union Square. We are looking for a MD with Friday & Saturday evening availability   We use OpenTable as a reservation system and experience with OpenTable is a must. 

The Maître d’ creates a warm welcome for all our guests. A successful Maître d’ presents a hospitable, organized, flexible and kind demeanor under all circumstances. The Maître d’ position greatly impacts cover volume and flow of service, which directly affects both FOH and BOH teams. The ability to recognize regular guests, friends and family, hospitality industry peers/Soignés (SWANS)/key press and reviewers, as well as warmly welcome first-time diners is a requirement of this position.

Responsibilities include: 

• Creating a seating plan before each service 

• Identifying Soigné guests and presenting notes before each service 

• Proactively collect and continuously add relevant information to guest notes 

• Participation in lineup by communicating seating plan and pertinent guest notes 

• Basic menu knowledge 

• Enthusiastic, warm, genuine interactions with guests, at both arrival and departure 

• Leadership and positivity in service
