NOW HIRING | SERVERS & CAPTAINS – OPENING FOH TEAM
Indienne New York, the latest project from Chef Sujan Sarkar, brings his Michelin-starred tasting menu concept from Indienne Chicago to New York City this Spring. We are assembling a dedicated Front of House team to execute a refined, detail-driven fine dining experience in Hudson Yards.
We are currently seeking experienced and service-driven professionals for the following positions:
SERVER
This role is ideal for hospitality professionals with strong foundational experience who are looking to grow within a structured fine dining environment.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Deliver attentive, informed, and refined guest service
- Maintain high standards of hospitality, accuracy, and efficiency
- Develop strong knowledge of food, beverage, and service standards
- Execute order entry and service flow with precision using POS systems
- Support overall dining room operations including table maintenance and service coordination
- Collaborate effectively with FOH and BOH teams
Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, consistency, attention to detail, and a strong desire for continued growth within fine dining service.
CAPTAIN
This position is intended for seasoned fine dining professionals with leadership experience and a strong command of elevated service standards.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Lead the guest experience from arrival through departure
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation
- Ensure seamless service execution in coordination with servers, back servers, sommeliers, and management
- Maintain accuracy, pacing, and consistency throughout service
- Uphold the highest standards of hospitality, communication, and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in fine dining or Michelin-level environments strongly preferred
- Sommelier certification or formal wine education is a significant advantage
ABOUT THE ROLE
Both Server and Captain positions are pooled-tip service roles focused on delivering an elevated and cohesive guest experience. Team members are expected to contribute to all aspects of service execution, including table maintenance, communication, service flow, and guest satisfaction.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (ALL FOH POSITIONS)
- Maintain full knowledge of food and beverage offerings
- Ensure timely, accurate, and professional service delivery
- Support setup, breakdown, and ongoing maintenance of the dining room
- Communicate effectively with culinary and service teams
- Uphold all sanitation, safety, and grooming standards
- Address guest needs proactively and escalate issues appropriately
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high-volume or fine dining service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor with a collaborative mindset
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
- Basic food and beverage knowledge required (advanced knowledge preferred for Captain roles)
